So yes, first off let me apologize, this update is long over do. But being as it's long over due we are going to do a quick run threw to bring us up to date.okay, so the last update covered ed and floyd driving cross country in a whopping 49 hours, sweet..okay here goes.so since then john has gotten two haircuts that look spectacular and has been flying home for meals whenever possible, mark got a lip ring and a tattoo further perpetuating his rockstar image, Shaunny went to Disneyworld and purchased a mickey mouse sweatshirt which he wears religiously, he and is still lactose intolerant. Ed got a girlfriend and still orders porkchops from the waffle house at 3 in the morning, floyd now wears his hair down and every day gets closer and closer to being a merch nazi, we got a tour manager who's name is Neil Reubenstein, he also did all of the good screams on "tell all your friends" and has a time. as for me my hip still hurts but I have become alot more efficient with the cane and still spend my mornings flat ironing my hair. We all stopped drinking for a while and have become much more coherent and curtious however are still very great at breaking things we probally shouldn't. As for everything else we have been on tour with the starting line since November 7th. The first half of the tour was with the early november and the always wonderful exit.they were both a lot of fun and there hotels owners still looking for the exit ever since Portland, or so I hear. We took a week off of the starting line tour and headed out with boxcar racer, h2o and the used. It was the greatest. We went from playing "shows" to playing "concerts" and although very weird it was still the sweetest time ever.. we had a bus for 4 days. Buses are sweet. Now northstar and the reunion show are with us and I cannot tell you how much fun has been had. Everyday is the greatest show ever. Thank you to everyone who has come out to see the rock experience that is the starting line taking back Sunday rock and roll is fun, really really fun tour. You all have made this one of our best tours and we owe you more than you know. So there.
Take care.

So
that Ed and Floyd are back in town(they drove home from california
last week in about 49 hours, which i'm sure has to be some kind of world
record)we've been able to take advantage of our time at home byfinally
getting together to work on some new songs. it has been going surprisingly
well so far. we have three songs roughly finished and we will hopefully
be debuting them when we go back on tour in November with The
Starting Line. that tour by the way, is also going to feature such
bands as The Reunion Show, Northstar, The Early November, and The Exit.
Check out the tour dates section for all the information on those shows.
Adam has been doing well, he's now graduated frum crutches to cane, giving
him a newfound sense of style and class. he's recieved countless letters
of encouragement and support from you guys and I cannot begin tell you
how much it has meant to him, so thank you so so much. and last, but not
least, keep an eye out for the upcoming issues ofRevolver
and Guitar Player magazine which will both be featuring
super sweet articles about us. that's about all for now, i guess. talk
to you soon.

RUCKAS!

Well,
the Taking Back Sunday, Brand New and Rufio death and destruction extravaganza
is finally at an end. The injury and mishap grand total is as follows:
one cracked tooth, one case of heat exhaustion mixed with dehydration,
one case of scarlet fever, one broken nose, two broken guitars, one swollen
lip, a few stitches here and there, and last but not least a haircut that
made Garret Tierney look like Gavin Rossdale. There's not enough time
or space to write down half of what took place on this tour, but some
of the highlights of the tour included such memorable moments as the show
at the house of blues in Anaheim California, which is located on Disneyland
property. At this show Adam was almost arrested by the Disney police,
basically for refusing to stop riding a small bike around the park. Also
at this show, Rufio's van was found covered in peanut butter, jelly and
shaving cream, which would spark an ongoing battle of van defacing throughout
the remainder of the tour. In LA some of us had the privilege of speaking
for two or more hours with a homeless man who called himself Godzilla.
He apparently is responsible for the deaths of Jimmy Hendrix and Kurt
Cobain and is the only man alive who knows that Brad Pitt and Madonna
secretly live together, have a child and "do all kinds of drugs".
And speaking of Brad Pitt, one night we got to stay at a house right next
door to him, and I slept in a room in that house that had gold records
on the wall commemorating the success of such bands as Korn and Dishwala...
I was psyched. All in all the tour was unbelievable, we cannot give enough
thanks to everyone who came out to see us. We were absolutely overwhelmed
by the responses we got from all of you in every state. We cannot say
it enough, thank you so so much. We've had an all to brief time at home
and we are now heading out on our next touring adventure. This time we
will join forces with Midtown and Recover. Hopefully the dates for that
tour will be posted by the time you're reading this, and you will be able
to find out when we'll be in your town and come join in the rock and roll
madness that is sure to ensue. See you soon.

what up. we're back from our week out with rival schools. it was an incredibly good time, all the shows were really good.we owe much thanks to rival schools, they helped us out alot, and they even let us hang out on their super magic tour bus with them. if you don't know rival schools yet do your self a favor and go to www.rivalschoolsunite.com we played the last two shows of the week with armor for sleep in connecticut and jersey. both of those shows ruled as did armor for sleep, they are going to be gigantic rock stars very soon i guarantee it. www.armorforsleep.com has some of their music and is a much cooler website than ours, check it out. thanks so much to everyone who came out to the jersey show, you guys went nuts and it was so nice to get that reaction at an out of state show. thanks especially to the kids who came out from long island, especially you rockville center kids. the big news this month is the thursday show at the sahara in syosset on february 21st. we have a few other shows this month but due to circumstances beyond my control i have very limited computer access and our shows page may be even less informative than usual. hopefully soon though we will have a whole new web page up and a whole new method of updating it. that's all i guess, oh yeah, album is now scheduled to come out march 26th, i don't think i mentioned that yet. get ready. -john |

just got back from our show at the chance in poughkeepsie, it was mad fun. we finally got to see our producer sal vilanueva in action, drinking jaegermiester like mad and playing a mean bass with murphy's law. it was nice to see first hand what brought him crawling into the recording studio wearing sunglasses and desperately clutching a cup of coffee the morning after a show. we love sal so much, i believe he's still holed up somewhere in jersey working on our album with tim "you don't need skills, you need" gilles. anyway, the show was really fun, all the bands rocked. brand new especially rocked, and if you've been living in a cave and haven't heard them yet, go to www.brandnewrock.com the getaway was also quite amazing, check them out at www.thegetawayrock.com and come see them play on long island at the phunky phish this saturday, it's gonna be good times. also thanks very very much to everyone who made the long drive out there to see us, especially you guys who came all the way out from Patchogue, you guys rule. There's a few new shows scheduled for january, we're playing this sunday at brownies, and then the following saturday at the hawks nest in hartford CT with armor for sleep, and in jersey again with armor for sleep and the goodwill. check those bands out at www.armorforsleep.com and www.angelfire.com/punk3/goodwill/main1.html also, for anyone new to our band, we have a yahoo club that can be quite fun and entertaining at times, join it at www.clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/takingbacksunday. that's all for now, see you soon. -john |
